Let’s Talk Strategy

We’re a few days into the eFIPO challenge, and we are all surviving alright so far, right? Actually, I’m not doing to badly. As of today (Tuesday night) I’m fourth, which given my strategy, or lack thereof, is rather impressive.

Thus far I’m just lazy. Not once have I looked over any ratios, financial statements, quarterly reports or news statements for any of the companies that I’ve invested in. I’ve taken a peek at a few charts (I’m a very visual person) and sort of taken the roulette strategy - if I see a lot of decline, I assume that some increases are coming - kind of like the red/black thing.

So where does that leave me? I just figure I’m the average consumer, so I buy stocks that I am familiar with for companies that I am purchase goods from. Google?Got it. Apple? I’m saving for an ipod nano and nike sports kit. Whole Foods? Yup, I like to buy organic and local. I would be buying LVMH (yes, that’s Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) if we could buy in non-US markets (what girl doesn’t love a Louis Vuitton Speedy? Such a classic). And Merck? An anti-cancer vaccine with 100% effectiveness for a disease that infects millions of thousands of women, not just in the US but globally? And is getting national support for mandated vaccination even though it costs $300 and only fractions of that to produce? Vaccines are great - microbes don’t develop resistance to them like they do antibiotics, and governments love them since they almost always come out on top in cost-effectiveness studies.  What’s not to love?

I’m curious, what’s your strategy?

My strategy is picking half of my riskier investments inside my portfolio and putting in some well development companies into the mix. I was up a good amount then fell hard after the crash. I’ll rise up again!

I picked stocks I have that I know did well, and stocks that look liek they have potential. And also some whims.

I was doing well until I decided to be risky and try and make a lot of money off of a small change. Now in last, but slowly working my way back up to not so far last.

Hello all. I am Top Dog II, the 3rd place contender who will win this stock challenge in just 8 short days. muhahahahaha…mmmmuhahahaha

Tomorrow will be a good day in the market I feel. I just started playing internet stock games for the first time around the 2nd week in march. Amazing what you learn from doing this.

TIP: you must pay attention to how the market reacts to media, merger announcements, profit/loss announcements ect. I stay diversified. Made it big and then Got killed on the subprime market.

I have been in DC for the past month…not sure what I missed, but it looks like Google remains the sure bet as always. I may start trading actively again and give El Indio a run for his money. Top Dog is back on the block.

After a brief run past $2 million, I’m back with the pack but I’m trying to get some space as Top Dog II keeps creeping in on my lead.

    Good luck to everyone involved!

El Indio has been active. I havent looked at VSE since late May. I think I will shake the tree a bit and see what falls out! Good luck…I love a good challenge.

I’m closing in again on $2 mill! Are you guys still honoring the prizes? Haven’t heard from eFIPO on the challenge for a while…
