Good Sites Produce Alexa Rankings

Crowd
After sifting through dozens of articles this week, I found one that really caught my eye. Jim, the owner and writer at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity, did some financial blog investigating and listed the top 60 blogs according to Alexa Rankings. Unfortunately, I am not a very popular member of the online community *yet*. But the good thing is that some of my buddies did end up on the list. Here are some of my favorite fellow bloggers, in no particular order, with a quick reason why I think they made it.

Lazy Man and Money – Lazy Man is dedicated to be financial free at a younger age than most. Just like me! His new site is very clean and extremely easy to navigate. The reason why I think he was on the list is because he writes with passion. Even though he calls himself “lazy”, he is being regarded as one of the fastest growing financial blogs on the net. Congrats Lazy Man.

The Simple Dollar – Trent is one of the few financial bloggers that updates his site on a daily basis. Wait… no… HOURLY basis. This guy is a mad writer and loves every minute of it. Have you ever heard of the term “writer’s block”? Well, Trent is an exception to that rule. He blew up faster than the movie Titanic. Trent is a great guy and deserves credit for his accomplishments. Here is one of his many great articles that relates to what we discuss here on eFIPO.

2 Million Blog – He is one of the first financial blogs that originally got me thinking about starting my own site. He has a precise goal and openly talks about it on his site. His site is not only informative, but realistic. *I think* we have a lot of similarities with the way we view our financial lives. Invest for the long haul and reap the benefits of starting early. As you can see he is killing my net worth, but his got some years on me. Congrats for being on the list!

GenerationXFinance – I think I was one of the first people to find his site (I may be wrong, but I think I’m right). Yes, he is serving the generation above mine, but we still believe in the same principles. He has a great site, and his new look is hip and happenin’. I’m sorry if my readers don’t understand what hip and happenin’ means, but it was a sentence used back in his day. Just kidding! He is currently busy writing something for About.com, so please cheer him on and take a look at his Friday Five. Jeremy congratulations on your success

Money Smart Life – Ben, the man of the hour! He just started his blog in September and is already getting some great attention from the online community. I mean it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize why his blog performs so well. Ben was my last guest on the Voice of eFIPO and we will be having him on again very soon. I wish him continued success at Money Smart Life and can’t wait to have him as a guest again.

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #11-End of Year

http://www.fvi.org.uk/central/trophies/story.jpg

Because this is eFIPO’s final Blog of the Week I decided to save one of my favorite blogs for last. This blog was one of the main reasons why I started blogging in the first place. So, without further adieu eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog of the year goes to:

AllFinancialMatters- A personal finance blog dedicated to discussing such topics as budgeting, asset allocation, 401K, IRA, cash flow, insurance, financial planning, portfolio management, and other areas in personal finance.

JLP, the writer of AllFinancialMatters, is one of the granddaddies of personal finance blogs. His writing style is extremely informative with a personalize touch of wisdom. I’ve been reading his blog since July 1st, 2006 and everyday he writes something new and entertaining. People use AllFinancialMatters as a benchmark to grade finance blogs and he is on the very top of the pedestal. I know his content in the upcoming years will be as rich as the years before. I would like to personally thank JLP because he was the main reason why I started eFIPO.

My favorite post this week - What Kind of Millionaire Do You Want To Be?

Also check out his final post -”This Is My FINAL Post“.

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #10

I decided to change the format for Blog of The Week. Every week I will post my favorite new blog discussing either politics or personal finance. This week I will start with finance and next week will be politics.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

The Money Tortoise- A Slow, Steady, and Successful Approach to Personal Finance. I was introduced to this finance blog through the Get Linked! button on the bottom right of eFIPO’s webpage. I’ve been following this blog since he sent me the email. I enjoy reading a realistic approach to personal finance because it grounds me sometimes. I occasionally write a few articles on how to get your net worth to increase faster by using an individual stock portfolio to get bigger returns, but it involves a lot more risk. Russ writes a clear way to develop your net worth with a slow and steady approach. My favorite post this week” What if You Can’t Go Slow & Steady?

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #9

These are eFIPO’s picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

Penny Foolish- The life of a girl bad with the pennies, who’s trying to keep from making the really big mistakes. This is one busy girl. She writes frequently about her daily life on her personal finance blog, runs CashDuck, a way to make some extra money around the holidays, and runs the Under 30 Honor site. She gives real world examples about finances because her life is her examples. It was her birthday on the 8th so tell her happy birthday and read some of her articles. My favorite article this week would have to be OK, OK, I bought some damn pants. Women and their overspending.

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Political Dishonesty - Truth. Awesome site! I was introduced to this site when he submitted his article to the Young Politics Carnival issue # 4. I love the articles he has written about how socialization of our government takes away rights to the individual citizen. My favorite post of his this week is Say No To Trans Fat, Say No To Choice. Even thought I do think businesses are killing America with trans-fats, I dont necessarily think they should regulate the use of it.

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #8

These are eFIPO’s picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

The Simple DollarFinancial talk for the rest of us. If you want to find some good financial advice and some great technical explanation, The Simple Dollar might be the site for you. Updates it daily with good content and doesn’t really have any filler articles. Visit The Simple Dollar and start looking at finances from a different angle. The article I liked from him this week- Facing My Financial Fears: Buying A Home.

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Pro’s & Con’sConservative Thought. Liberally Applied. There’s nothing better than a good debate website such as this. The site is updated on a nearly daily basis so it follows politics very closely. I’ve been reading this site for a couple of months now and if you like to discuss your point of views against a conservative thinker go to Pro’s & Con’s. Favorite article of the week- Stories that surprise people but should not

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #7

These are eFIPO’s picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

Money Turtle - My Journey Towards Financial Nirvana. I’ve been reading this blog for some time now. A lot of stock talk which is really good prior to the new year. His posts are usually centered on his stock allocation and some pitfalls and gains he goes through in his stock market life. Favorite post this week would have to be “Hot IPO.” He speaks briefly about the new PS3 which correlates with my article this week [Battle Of The Consoles].

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Abercrombie View- My views on everything from politics to religion to observations of people and the world around us. Great stuff coming from an extremely well-educated man (he has a doctorate). He is also a war veteran which also makes him a Patriot and uses his conservative view points to write well lectured articles. He does tie in a lot of religious political views because he was a former pastor. A lot of edgy debate topics are on John’s site. My favorite post would have to be “America - Stuck on Stupid!” You also need to look at the comments.

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #6

These are eFIPO’s picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

Mapgirl’s Fiscal Challenge- Just another WordPress weblog. Yeah right… Mapgirl’s site isn’t just another financial weblog. Her site is unique and writes the things that people are thinking about, but not independently researching. She just moved to her new site so things are a little hectic from what I can see. She will be changing her format a little since Interest.com will be on her site. Congrats to her and I wish her the best of luck with her new site. Check out her new site! Welcome to my new site!

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

The Liberal Lie, The Conservative Truth- Comparing modern day Democrats against history to find the similarities with past governments and, revealing the truth in current events to expose the liberal lie. Two Reagan conservatives who believe that the left has it wrong and just doesn’t get it! Now these writers have something to say and they write about it on daily basis. They write long in depth posts on what they believe in. If you are a Conservative and like reading about other Conservative view points, this site is for you. Here’s a great article to get you started: REPUBLICANS - WHAT NOW? - THE SUNDAY COMMENTARY

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #5

These are eFIPO’s picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

Generation X Finance - Helping a unique generation achieve financial independence. This website is just awesome. I love the layout, colors, and of course the content. One of the reasons why I like this site so much is that the author’s name is Jeremy (Just like me!!). Just kidding.

His content is rich and detailed. I emailed Jeremy earlier this week and told him that he was going to be on eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog, and then I realized that he is also AllFinancialMatters Blog of the Week. AllFinancialMatters is one of the best financial blogs out there and it’s always a privilege to be on his list. Congratulations to Jeremy and all your success. I am hoping that in the future we will be able to join forces and create a new financial network. Favorite article - Watch Out For Tax Traps With Year-End Mutual Fund Purchases

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket - A place for me to express ideas and thoughts that keep me from sleeping at night. I toss, I turn, I read, and then I write. You’ll notice I’ve downsized from the warehouse to a wastebasket, and that I’m no longer using the “frugal” label. Let me know how you like the new digs.

I’ve been reading this weblog for sometime now. She has so much off the wall content, but she writes about it with such ease. She is seriously one of my favorite writers. I know after you read one of her articles you will bookmark her site. Check out A Revolt on the Revolt of the Fairly Rich just another great article by Wenchypoo.

eFIPO’s Blogs Of The Week #4

These are eFIPOs picks for finance & politic blogs of the week.

eFIPO’s Feature Finance Blog

Young Finance GuyMy name is Chris. I am a young professional in the Finance/Real Estate Industry. Growing up, my family owned a construction/development company in Northeastern, Ohio. I attended the University of Dayton and upon graduating college (Finance Major) I decided to move to a new city to start my career, instead of working for the family business. This Blog will track the trials and tribulations of my personal finance life. Its always nice to see young people, like myself, writing about personal finance. He has a lot of good content from the perception of a young professional. Favorite article- 25 Rules to Grow Rich By..

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Gun Toting LiberalSlightly left of center but this blog is DIFFERENT! Even though I am not a liberal, this blog is still an interesting read. I always like reading opinions from a different view points. I really enjoyed reading this article Cheney: Bobbing For Apples Form Of Interrogation. So if youre liberal or conservative, check them out!

eFIPO’s Primary Politics Blog

Martian AnthropologistThoughts on politics, religion, society, and more, from the Martian and his fellow bloggers. This website’s author has a very unique writing style.
