Battle Of The Consoles

Who is going to win the big fight around Thanksgiving and Christmas? The battle of the consoles will begin soon and I just can’t wait till the news show the clips of people killing each other at Wal-Mart to get the last Wii. I know everyone is waiting for the big arrival of Sony’s PS3, but will it be as big as PS2? Some people don’t think so because of all the problems Sony is facing.
When Wii was introduced I really didn’t think it was going to be a good system, but I have totally changed my mind because of the new commercials Nintendo’s been making. Sony on the other hand, has had crap for commercials. They are disturbing and creepy, while the Wii looks revolutionary and really sweet.
If I was a betting man (which I am), I think Nintendo’s Wii is going to wipe out PS3 and this is the reason why. Nintendo makes a profit off of every game they sell, and every console they create, while PS3 and Microsoft end up losing money. If you want to see a market share boost, stick with Nintendo (NTDOY.PK). I think in the battle of the consoles, Nintendo is going to kick some PS3 a$$.

Actually, I think Nintendo will be losing money on every Wii, though not nearly as much as Sony will be losing on each PS3.
You are right that Nintendo has been smart about this. Out of the big three from last generation (Xbox, PS2, GameCube), the GameCube is the only one that made money - the other two lost hundreds of millions of dollars.
I’ll be doing everything I can to get my hands on a Wii Sunday morning. I think I have a plan…

If I buy one, it’ll be the Wii. The 360 and PS3, while both impressive, simply haven’t upgraded the machines enough in my mind to justify spending $400-$600 on it.
Think of it this way: the technological leap between the Atari 2600 and the NES was huge, in terms of graphics, game play, saving, etc. The difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 and their predecessors is the the 3D effects got slightly better. So we see a few more ripples in the lake and slightly more realistic fog. Other than that, the systems are basically the same.
Not worth the price tag for such a small advance in technology in my opinion. The Wii at least is giving us a revolutionary new controller style.
